A full turn is one complete rotation around a fixed point. When the turn is finished, the object points the same way and has the same orientation as when it started.

You can make a full turn by:

  • turning halfway two times, or
  • turning a quarter of the way four times.

Example: An arrow starts pointing up. It turns clockwise one quarter turn four times.

  1. At the start, the arrow points up.
  2. After one quarter turn, it points right.
  3. After two quarter turns, it points down.
  4. After three quarter turns, it points left.
  5. After four quarter turns, it points up again.

The arrow is now pointing in the same direction as at the start. Therefore, it has made one full turn.

A full turn can also go anticlockwise. The important thing is that the object makes one complete rotation and ends in its starting orientation.
