A one-to-one pictograph represents each item in a categorical data set with exactly one picture, so the number of pictures in a category shows its frequency. The representation preserves one-to-one correspondence, allowing quantities to be counted and categories compared as more, fewer, or the same; scaled keys in which one picture represents multiple items are not included.
A one-to-one pictograph uses one picture for each item counted. The number of pictures tells how many items are in each category.
Example: A class votes for a favorite fruit.
Step 1: Write the categories.

Step 2: Draw one picture for each vote.
Use the same picture each time. Here, 🍎 stands for one vote, not several votes.

Step 3: Count and compare.
