An angle represents the amount of turn between two rays sharing a common endpoint, rather than the lengths of the rays or the space enclosed by them. Learners interpret and compare angles as turns—such as a quarter turn, half turn, or full turn—and connect these turns to right angles and the orientation of shapes and movements; measuring angles in degrees and calculating with angle measures are not included at this level.

The rays could be very short or very long, but the angle would still be the same because the amount of turn has not changed.
