Its structure shows that bar height or length corresponds to quantity, while separated bars preserve the distinction between categories and support comparisons; this does not include histograms for continuous, interval-based data or more advanced statistical displays.
A bar graph shows how much belongs to each category. The categories go on one axis, and the numbers go on the other axis.
