Step 1: Draw and label the axes

For a horizontal bar graph:

  • Write the categories along the vertical axis.
  • Write the numbers along the horizontal axis.

The greatest value is 77, so use a scale from 00 to 77. Each interval of 11 represents one student.

Step 3: Draw the bars

Draw equal-width bars. Make each bar’s length match its category’s number. Leave spaces between the bars.

  • Each bar starts at 00 and reaches the correct number.
